A brief look at several locations of the Known World.
The blackened and decapitated stone head of the Goddess Isoni-uh greets visitors to this bleak and burnt over island. Rumors of survivors of whatever civilization once lived on Aradorne persist, though no proof has ever been presented. Isoni-uh, still worshipped in parts of the Northern Wastes, is a dark goddess worshipped by occultists with blood sacrifice. Ships that have stopped on the shores of Aradorne have reported the feeling of being watched, and the sounds of beating drums coming from deep in the forests.
Once said to be the "City of Impenetrable Walls", now it's walls lay a slag-melted heap, melted by some impossible fire.
A large continent with many lands, twice as many kings, knights, ladies, lords, viziers, and pretenders of each. No king is ever safe here, and the lands are engaged in endless petty wars and land disputes. Refugees from these wars often board the first ship to New Voryxian as fast as possible.
The so-called "Silent City", the inhabitants of the mountainous, desert filled land of Nuuros are said to speak only in battle, and to wear masks to cover their faces, only revealing their face when defeated in battle. A legion of warriors, though some would call them a holy order, called the Spear Brothers, practice a unique fighting style, wielding a spear in each hand and fighting with deadly ferocity. Nuurosi exiles have established a reputation as being deadly warriors with little equal, though their customs are considered highly unusual.
The land where winter never sleeps, the "Big Empty Cold" is a seemingly endless expanse of frozen lakes, icy streams and forests knee deep with snow. The shaggy haired people who dwell here wrestle with bears and slay giants for fun.
